This Flickr account has been set up by a number of local residents very concerned over the impact on Newton-Le-Willows of the proposals to build a warehousing site of 672 acres on green belt land. The purpose is to show you, the people who live here what we may lose.
Some of the people who took these photos are members of Parkside Action Group (PAG) some are not. However all are concerned and committed to saving the character of the area as it is now.

We are concerned over the loss of our already limited local green spaces, countryside and wildlife.

We are concerned over the potentially dangerous air pollution hazard and damage to the local environment.

We do not believe this will create many new lobs rather the plans are to consolidate existing warehousing into one site. This will not create more jobs just move the ones already here around a bit.

We do not believe the proposal is environmentally sound quite the opposite in fact. It will be a local environmental catastrophe!

We also are of the opinion strategically it is completely unnecessary and that there are obvious better alternatives in the region.

WE ARE THEREFORE SUFFERING THIS POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC LOCAL DAMAGE FOR ALMOST NO PRACTICAL BENEFIT.

Please note this is a non-political group formed by residents from across the three affected boroughs of St Helens, Wigan and Warrington.
