I come from a family of artists....at least on my mom's side of the family. My grandfather was the patriarch and his artistic genes passed on to my mom and my sister and me.

Well, honestly, for a long time, I thought the artistic genes passed me by. I can barely draw a straight line, let alone paint or draw or make jewelry (as both my mom and sister have done and do). I felt jealousy for a long long time.

I honestly don't remember when the epiphany hit. I've only been a serious amateur photographer since 2003 and I've been a hardcore Flickrite since 2004. Anyway, my realization was this:

I have absolutely no reason to feel jealous of my mom and sister and their talents. The family's artist genes DID pass to me: they just manifested themselves in me in a totally different way then they manifested in my mom and my sister.

My photography is my art. And I am so happy and proud of that.

Though her pictures I get to see the beauty and wonder of nature, and also I get a few chuckles watching her clean and paint the different parts of those ships! Ahoy Keri get the lead out! :) haha Glad to see you again Keri!"

"Keri has a great eye and a true love of photography; her photos show her feelings and personality. You can tell a lot about a person by the tings they find interesting enough to shot! Keri has a great love for her family and nature; these are the things she likes to shot and are the two things that drive most of her friends. I am honor to be her friend and I can’t wait to see what she will do next!"

"There are few women who would feel comfortable walking about on a battlefield and fewer still with an enthusiastic interest in tanks. Most women I know probably could not tell a Sherman from a shopping trolley. Keri is an exception. She has a passion for her area's local history as well as battlefield history and a willingness to walk long distances to get the shot that counts.

She is the only person I have ever known to have drooled over my photograph of a Josef Stalin II tank, an action which could have had her up in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee a few decades ago. However I suspect that even Senator McCarthy would have met his match in Keri!

She is a talented and inventive photographer who often wants to do so much more than her current equipment allows her to and sometimes I sense her frustration over this. She already produces excellent photographs in both 35mm and digital and I sense that she is capable of so much more in the future. Santa needs to leave her a DSLR!

Above all, though I have never met or spoken to her, I have come to know Keri as a very good friend. I hope this will continue for a very long time."

"One of the reasons I liked Keri's photos from the very start was her honesty. She takes pictures of the world around her, and her personality and perspective comes through on every shot. We get to see the world as she sees it.
Keri is also very knowledgeable about the natural world, and has helped me with IDing plants more than once :)
I've enjoyed seeing her photos on flickr, and I am sure there will be many more to enjoy. Keep up the good work Keri!"

"What can be said about panzer73 that can't be said by her pictures? Not a great deal really, as they show an artistic eye that only few others have, yet there are also the family shots that show why her work is so good: There is a lot of love involved, and it shows.
