Isle of Skye - Photographic Workshop - 2012

I will be co-hosting a photographic workshop with my Flickr friend Anne Strickland on the Isle of Skye in August this year. Anne has recently returned from a investigatory trip to Skye… searching for (and finding) all the best photographic locations… and checking out the accommodation options and other necessary logistics.
The Isle of Skye is one of the most sought-after photography locations for landscape photographers. Skye has something for everyone, whether your interest is wildlife photography, rocky coastlines, lighthouses, ancient castles and ruins, picturesque village scenes or mythical landscapes. In every direction that you point your lens, you will find unimaginably stunning vistas and dramatic lighting. Quaint croft houses, fields of sheep, rocky cliffs, waterfalls galore, Highland cows, rolling green hills and jagged mountains.

"What is there to say that hasn´t been said about Paul yet? Let´s see...He is, without a doubt, a talented and technically very versed, superb landscape photographer and a wonderful inspiration and benchmark for my own work. I feel we share the same fanatic passion when it comes to nature and landscape magic. Without Paul, I would probably not have started venturing into panorama photography. What makes me return to his photostream over and over again however is not only the beauty of his excellent, serene compositions, but the interesting and humorous stories he likes to share with us as well. Not only that, but the kind attention he manages to give to his flickr friends makes him a very approachable and valuable companion on this journey to perfection. I´m very thankful for that. Looking forward to your next uploads Paul! Bring on the magic!"

"Paul is a perfectionist.
I have not met Paul face to face (yet), but I feel a connection to this talented photographer as though we are old friends.
There is very little i can say to compliment his incredible portfolio of images that has not been said.
It would be best to take a few hours off and scroll through his stream and let Paul's obvious passion speak for itself.
I lived in Cape Town for awhile and I remain awestruck at the way Paul has shot this area and her surrounds. Paul's dedication for the Cape is like a lover over his muse. They push each other to new heights. May this affair last forever.
Oh he has taken some pretty cool shots of Namibia too - hmm - I hope she's not cheating on me ;)!!!
Your an inspiration Paul!"14th April, 2011

"I have to agree with everyone here--I am so thankful that I found Paul's photostream a year ago or so. His work is exceptional and stunning, and one could almost imagine that he lives in some wonderful alternate reality where everything is beautiful, magical and lit from within. But the best thing about Paul, is that he is a kind, generous and friendly person who is always willing to share his techniques, which is rare in this world of photogrpahy."

"What else can I say about Paul that hasn't already been said?
His shots are an inspiration for hundreds of photographers (amateur and pro) around the world and, of course, for me too.
He's the evidence that internet is a great vehicle to share know-how and experience. His tutorial gave to a lot of us the opportunity to take tons of beautiful capture all around the world allowing to best you can get from a shot: share the feelings and the beauty of distant places and moments.
The availability and modesty that he shows despite his great talent make him a truly exquisite person.
Thank you once again Paul!"16th November, 2009

"Excellence.
Just that one word embodies everything I've come to know about Paul's work. He doesn't rest (or post) until it's quite perfect. I am (of course!!!) in NO way qualified to even attempt to comment on his work other than my appreciation for all things beautiful. :)
I love your work, Paul and I love how you share our gorgeous part of the world in such a beautiful way.
I really appreciate your generosity and kindness towards me. Your patience and encouragement knows no (apparent) boundaries. LOL
Thank you, my friend. It's been fun getting to know you."25th July, 2009

"Paul is one outstanding photographer. His photostream is one of the finest collections on Flickr, and his Vertoramas are easily some of the best i have seen anywhere. "I blame Panorama Paul for infecting me with his vertorama fever. However this is one infection everyone should be glad to have. Learning from his tutorial and photostream has helped me to bring my photography to a whole new level. Paul has mastered composing his shots in any situation to achieve the best foreground subject and detail while still capturing stunning backgrounds. I hope he never stops shooting vertoramas."

"I've been wondering for a while now how to describe Paul. I've not only dicovered in him a wonderful photographer but also a very special and true person I am now priviledged to count as a friend.
His images are truly inspiring and if I had to stare at landscape shots for the rest of my life, I would choose his in a heartbeat. He tells a story with every single one of them and is generous enough to share with us how he does it.
Thank you Paul for being what you are. ;)"15th August, 2008

"THE MASTER OF VERTORAMAS
What a wonderful gentleman that I have met here on Flickr. Paul is a gifted photographer brimming with talent, love and a deep sense of beauty. He brings sensitivity and soulfulness to his nature photos and his photos are not only beautiful, they are supreme. Paul has an incredible eye for form and composition. I also feel like he knows way more than me technically which makes me super jealous but I love him anyway - ;)
When I first stumbled across his images on Flickr, I was amazed and inspired to do better photography on my own, and I've really been influenced by his style: moody skies, reflections, ultra-wide focal lengths, combined with low-angle shooting, and some of the best-produced Vertical Panoramas I have seen. He influenced me to invest on a costy ultra wide lens as well-;) Here we have him "THE MASTER OF PANORAMAS"
I am particularly taken with his landscapes, but I also admire his abilities to describe his great work in beautiful words. Thanks Paul for being such a great inspiration, and an influential friend.

"I met Paul last year (2007) during the Expressions of Cape Town Exhibition (South Africa). By that time I was already a huge fan of his work. I am still a HUGE HUGE fan of his work. He has the EYE to see a great picture. His compositions are flawless and always spot-on. He is a fine artist and therefore he creates Fine ART Vertoramas. Paul, your images are truly masterpieces and you keep inspiring a beginner like me! Thank you for always being willing to help - your tips and ideas are always very useful and I have only benefitted from them. Look forward to see many more art pieces in your stream."
