While I've had film SLR's for quite some time, the camera generally came off the shelf only on special occasions and at vacation time. I got my Canon 30D in the fall of 2006 and, like many others, the quick feedback and flexibility of digital ignited a more serious interest in Photography. I recently updgraded to a 7D. I'm gradually working my way along the photography learning curve, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the journey.

In addition to the satisfaction of occasionally creating an image I like, the big payback of my photography obsession is that it encourages me to get out and explore the natural world more than I might otherwise. To see a fine sunrise and a beautiful sunset and spend the hours in between looking for interesting plants and cool critters is the perfect day for me. Photography provides an incentive to get out and have more perfect days.
