I'm a happily married female- mom to 3 big dogs and 5 cats, I love to craft, sew, paint, etc. Happiest when I'm creating something and I love to play with fabrics. Bright colors thrill me. I stay busy sewing things for my Etsy shop or making presents for my friends and family or sewing for swaps. Quilt alongs make me happy and keep me inspired. I buy way too much fabric and have a huge stash that needs some bustin'. I love nice cotton fabrics, batiks included if they are clear or bright but I'm not a fan of any certain designer over any other.

I LOVE tropical things- like the beach, flamingos and mermaids, sea turtles, margaritas, beach umbrellas, limes and lime green, bright colors. Pirates! Love things piratey, parroty, swash-buckley, treasurey, skulls! Castles, dragons, secret passageways. I adore small boxes, things with drawers or moving parts, secret hiding spaces, things with lots of pieces, small things, things that make me organized. I love animals like chipmunks and fawns and hedgehogs and manatees and anything with birds or funky owls, bees .... baby anythings, and most especially little white kittens named Nosey Parker or calicos named Gravey! I love quirky, fun things, like touches of 3D, special features like doors that open, things that have other things behind them, little removable bits and pieces, stuff like that. Whimsical or nostalgic stuff that makes me go "awwww!" You know, right? I also like umbrellas, mailboxes, laundry lines, trees, houses, mushrooms, kites, faeries, etc. Yes, I am a 12 year old brain in a much older body.

I'm not crazy about traditional, old-fashioned quilt blocks or muted fabrics. Polka dots are OK in small doses, too many make me think of a circus clown, which is kind of freaky to me. Same with stripes, I guess you'd say I'm not wild about them.

As for what I make- I don't have much in the way of muted colors or subdued fabrics, so if I get assigned a partner who likes that kind of thing, I'll be having to shop! I tend to sew things that I like, which means whimsical, fun stuff but I can do serious piecing when needed.

"What to say about Susan? Weeeellll... I persuaded her to join the MQTS back in the day. She was so entertaining on the DQS and the ORBC I wanted her to imbibe our group with some of her mojo!!! And sure enough, it worked like a charm...

Susan is so creative and I'm always excited to see what she's going to come up with next! She is the Queen of thinking outside of the box! Her quilting skills are to die for, and she comes up with the coolest ideas for pincushions and other crafts!!!! If she's ever your partner for a swap, you are in for a treat! XOXO"

"Susan is one of the most ornery, goofy, crazy, talented, and wonderful people on Flickr! Life would be so dull without her around! She keeps me on my toes and I hope I keep her on hers!! I'm privileged and honored to call her my friend!"

"The best part about Flickr is making new friends - finding people all across the world who have things in common with you. Susan is one of those people I have been privileged to meet. Her enthusiasm for life is infectious, and she breathes energy into every group she joins. Her quilts are inspirational, her comments hilarious, and her support of others sets an example for us all. Thanks for being here, Susan!"
