  "No one who loves dogs the way Darren does can be all bad.. And anybody who has a sense of humor like Darren's ought to be overlooked. His portraits of Floyd are a testimonial in themselves. He obviously has the trust and admiration of Floyd, to put up with all the crazy outfits and hats that Floyd finds himself in - all in the persuit of cheese.. Okay - that's not 100% true - he does it for Darren too, I'm sure.
  
  Dogs are good judges of character, and maybe even creators of character. They have a way of teaching us things we ought to know, but sometimes forget. I think Floyd is teaching us all a valuable lesson - that love conquors all - and that cheese rules.
  
  On the serious side, Darren often judges himself too harshly, becoming impatient with his 'progress' photographically. What he fails to recognize is that his work has come a long way, and that not only is it technically correct - which pretty much anyone can do.. It's also thoughtful and often outright hilarious - which precious few of us can do!

I was then very impressed with his photography skills, he has grown even more and I am now blown away to see what a truly amazing photographer he has become. I found him through Ali, and found his photography to be especially entertaining :) His pictures of his incredibly tolerant, well-poised dog and his...*ahem*...apron pin-ups always put a smile on my face, and his devilish sense of humor, his wonderfully creative (FUN!) photography, and this silly belief that Canadians are king....well, we'll just say that the beagle can make me laugh like no other :)"

But I feel like since he's been taking such amazing photos, our friendship has grown into something it could never have been before. There is something to be said for being able to see a gallery of someone's life. I believe it nurtures a relationship. (especially an online relationship) Although I might get huffy and defensive at the time, I love it when Darren critiques me, because I really think he knows what he's talking about. I've seen his work progress over the past few years and he has gotten really good...I'm a little bit jealous! And he's also gotten much more creative which seems to be my biggest problem.   "Paguma and I have been great friends since our time serving together in the “Korean Conflict.” I remember the night we met; a platoon of friends had met in the city and shared what turned out to be really nasty kimchi. Paguma and I had the least of the group, and we spent most of the night helping others battle explosive diarrhea and dehydration. Battle scarred and tested, we moved on to establish a shared love of beagles and all foods that are not kimchi. However, after a rather disturbing incident involving the revocation of a coupon (given as a birthday gift) good for one free expression of hound anal sacs, we drifted apart. Now we use the following code because neither of us really care to admit that we know the other, and we don’t want to be on the hook for touching any dog’s hindquarters for the purposes of expelling smelly substances: we rarely comment on each other’s stream; we never talk about photos, or art, or anything really; I probably couldn’t pick him out of a line up, even if he just mugged me. I’m pretty much only writing this testi because I want to get in Floyd’s good graces. That hound rules. Plus I like writing "testi" in public forums."

  "Darren's stream is filled with fantastic, sharp shots of musicians from the nightly concert Darren attends and, more importantly, his perfect model, Floyd the Beagle-- the second best photographed beagle on flickr ;)
  
  Floyd the Beagle's fame stems from wearing a fedora, donning ham and cheese on his hound-head, sharing his bucket list, begging for love, and basically just being adorable and cooperative. Without him, Darren is simply a hack photographer.
  
  I enjoy Darren's humor, his talent as a photographer, his musical tastes, his beautiful and talented better half Lady M, and his love for beagles. We beaglers belong to a special group and stick together!"
