During 2007 our family visited the Oxley Woods low carbon eco homes development in Oxley Park, Milton Keynes. At the time we were just being nosey and seeking ideas and inspiration for a self build project.
We kept going back, and in June 2008 we purchased our very own eco house towards the edge of the development, facing onto park.
This is our first ever house purchase. We've had many problems too many problems, but many good times too. This is our photo record of our experiences in an award winning eco housing development.
The houses are designed by Richard Roger's Rogers, Stirk, Harbour + Partners and built by Wood Newton as sub-contractors to George Wimpey. Timber framed, pre-fabricated SIPs panels and clad in Trespa they're nothing if not very different from a regular new build house in the UK.
