Hi! I'm born in 1987, which makes 24 this year, and I live in Southern Finland. I've been photographing since I was 13, mostly with a digital camera. I got my first own camera, Canon IXUS 30 in 2004. In December 2007, Santa brought me a Canon 400D with a Sigma macro lens (17-77mm). My dad had told Santa that I take good photos (he had been visiting my Flickr gallery) and that I need a new camera. I also have a Tamron lens (55-200mm) and a Canon Speedlite 430EX flash. I mostly just use my Sigma lens without the flash.

As you can probably see viewing my photostream, I'm into taking macro shots. Nature, still-lives, little objects and light play are my favourite photograph subjects. I don't like reading manuals, so I learn slowly. Usually I prefer asking someone when I need a hand. Luckily I have a bunch of friends who can help me with details. At the moment I'm concentrating on learning the use of shutter speed, light, depth of field and the importance of ISO. I'm starting to realize, the better you know your camera, the better photos you can take.

Lately I've also grown interest for film cameras. I've learnt how to develop film and print it. I joined a photography club which made all this possible even for a fairly poor student. Film developing and all that changed my perspective on digital photography a lot.

I'm also a musician, I've played classical piano since I was 5, now I play the piano for myself and sing first soprano in a choir. Sometimes I also write songs. Just like music, photography is starting to become a lifestyle instead of just a hobby. A big thanks to Flickr for that and my Dad for making it possible.

I study the Finnish language, Estonian language and the Finnic languages at the university. Finnish is also my mother tongue. I hope this education will give me a profession because linguistics is another great passion of mine.

Feel free to give me comments, ideas, feedback or just a hi! During the years in Flickr, I've got some great friends here who give me advice when I need it, inspire me and comment on my photos just when I feel like I'm the only one who likes them. Thank you all for that!
