I'm a hobbyist photographer who enjoys nature photography. Waterfalls hold a particular interest for me as each takes me on a little adventure.

Much like the "peak-bagging" of hiking, seeking out waterfalls forces me out, often with a bit of excercise.

I also have fun hanging out around ponds & flowers for dragonflies & butterflies.

If anyone is interested my "bag" for various shots are as follows:

Base kit:
Digital SLR 1.6x ~8MP (always in RAW mode)
Tripod

Waterfalls
Camera & Tripod.
Wide to Norm Lens 16mm+
Most waterfalls seem to be taller or wider than their glens provide space to backup. So I almost always use my wide angle.
Norm to Tele (200mm)
Sometimes, esp on bad sky days, I need to focus on parts of the falls, and due to water depth, postings, etc I just can't get close.
Highly-coated Polarizer
I found cheaper ones produce flare/reflections that ruin your day when you get home :(
Rectangular ND Grads. I have 2-stop hard & soft filters.
I often need to hold back the sky (or hotly lit land). If I've forgotten my filters I can sometimes do an equivalent of HDR by using two exposures. Or more commonly two different post exposures of the same raw file (my software doesn't support automated HDR). But I generally prefer the results of the grads.
I want more ND variants. Including non-gradients. I've certainly been known to put both on together and in either configuration (dark on dark or dark on light).
