We all have our own general vision of the world(and personal interpretation of our lives in particular). Good photographers learn just enough technical skills so they can attempt to share that vision with others.

My first camera was a Nikon F Photomic given to me by my Uncle Rosendo in 1975. I then worked as press photographer/features writer for two years(1980-1982) at the University of the Philippines Information Office in Diliman, Quezon City(I was a Mass Comm. alumnus there). I then returned to my hometown in Cebu City(1982) to help manage our family pension house. I went back to shooting again (street photography) in 1987 and eventually started sponsoring minor pageants and bikini competitions in 2002; as I was beginning to get fascinated with female beauty. It's this merry mix of shooting experiences which has resulted to the present style of photography that I'm doing today, not to mention the fact that I'm still single. I wish to have more experience photographing/glorifying different beauties of different races; but I'm stuck with Cebuanas(Austronesians) for the time being. To be honest, I think that Filipinas are some of the most attractive women in the world - photography-wise. Otherwise, I would have been better off spending my time photographing cliché orange beach sunsets, small old colonial churches and creepy street scenes from over here.

Cheers,
Ossie

The aspiring photographer who wishes to produce better images must first learn how to previsualize.
====================================================================
To become proficient in photography, one has to constantly imagine a rectangular frame in front of him; and he always has to determine what elements ought to be introduced inside and what ought not to be included in that frame.
====================================================================
The human CCD(mind's eye) sees/interprets/envisions/creates the image. A photographer employs a camera among his other tools in a vain attempt to further realize it; and then hopefully to share it with others.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A successful photograph/image is a working extension of the photographer's/artist's mind.

"To fully appreciate and learn from a good photograph, we don't only try to look for something we like that's in front of us. We might also want to get inside the mind of the person who was behind the camera."

"A photographer may 'hide' behind his camera; but it's his vision, his view of the world in general and how he sees life in particular which may determine the content of his images. He may pretend he's doing it for the money, or claim that he's aiming to perfect his craft; or if he's more into the aesthetic side, he may say that he's searching for truth, or for that 'elusive' beauty in everyday things. But the greatest goal of a photographer, whether amateur or pro, is the admiration of his peers.
So here in Flickr, be profuse in your praises, and tread softly on his dreams. He may help make this world a more beautiful place for all of us someday."

Many thanks to Mike Solon for renewing my pro account.

Dear photographer,

I would like to thank you for visiting my site. I know that there are a lot of wonderful pictures out there; but as you can see, I only have a few contacts. I prefer to create just a few alliances with photographers whose pictures mean something to me or whose interests I share. Please feel free to drop me a comment or two. I will respond with a thank you, at the very least; and take your suggestions to heart.

Photographically,
Ossie

    "Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Ossie in person after watching his photostream for the past 3+ years. No one can shoot with as many models as he has, without being a great photographer and, being respectful of his models.

    I can assure you, Ossie is a true gentleman and someone who appreciates and understands his subjects well.

    His stream is unique- and has a true signature of his style that no one can imitate. I am honored to have met and worked with this man, an icon on Flickr in terms of presenting us Asian beauty at its best."

    "There are about 4 photographers on Flickr that have impacted me and Ossie is one of them. Just photographing gorgeous girls is not the key to his success in making simply the most beautiful glam pics on Flickr. Various of his gorgeous models appear elsewhere on Flickr but in Ossies stream they truly shine in a combination of beauty, pose, outfit, espression and surroundings that show the real master at work.
    However, do not neglect Ossies pictures of Cebu streetlife and Palawan as these are simply beautiful as well.
    On top of that, unknowingly, Ossie has tought me to seize the day, do what you want to do and don't wait doing it.

    After having visited the great man I can only say thanks for your hospitality and showing me the ropes of glamourphotography. I now know what an ideal life looks like. Also thanks for the sessions we had in various coffeebars, sharing our views on the dishonour of war and solving the worlds problems.

    Thanks you are a great man."

    "Despite of his professionalism in photography, Sir Oss still manages to teach and inspire an amateur like me and like the most of us. I'll never forget the time when I visited Cebu early this year, also the first time to meet him in person, and I was speechless then too. A master of his craft indeed. I learned a lot from him from the start and I'm very grateful for that. A real friend, so humble he is with a great sense of humor. Thanks a lot for sharing, teaching and inspiring me. Keep on posting. See you soon. RakenRol, Master Ossie!"

But the man I met was a true gentleman, warm and gracious, polite and respectful to his peers and to his models, prompt in his communications, and humble about his own immense talents. I was flattered when he said he wanted to observe and learn from me. And then I realized that therein lies his true greatness."

Quite a rarity nowadays that is why hanging out with him is always a pleasure (not only because we both love women--especially those in skimpy bikinis). He never hesitates to answer my questions on photography and the ins and outs of being a photographer. So everytime Ossie asks, NO hardly ever crosses my mind--if at all."
