I specialise in designing and creating unique pieces of Millinery (hats and headpieces) for private individual clients as well as film and television costume pieces.

My creations are formed using a variety of materials from senamy to other more exclusive straws such as Parisisal, etc, felts, peachblooms and the traditional millinery method of covered hat types using buckrum, silks, satins, etc. I use the traditional method of blocking hat shapes over a variety of beautifully turned wood blocks which are custome-made for me. So what starts out as roll of fabric or straw ends up as a beautiful moulded hat shape after a lot of hard work stretching, pulling and steaming over the hat block.

I then start to build the hat into something more special with sculptural effects and decoration. Many of my creations are also adorned with decorative embellishments such as stencilled print, beading, silk and velvet flowers, wire filigree and feathers.

I love doing pieces for Theatre and Television as I get the chance to make period pieces. My dream commission would be to get the chance to do the Millinery pieces for a Theatre, TV or Film production of "My Fair Lady" or a production of "Easter Parade."
