I think we are getting to a time when digital photography is available to most anyone, and it doesn't take much to take good pictures. This is good for consumers, but bad for photographers. This is why I've been trying to develop things that I can do that the average guy with a camera can't do or is not willing to do. I am learning to use graphic design to use photos to create unique digital works of art. Photo manipulation is common amongst graphic designers in the advertising world, but I don't see it much in the portrait or modeling world. What the camera captures is usually the final product, with perhaps some minor editing. What I do is unique, creative, and artistic. The more I learn about Photoshop, the better I get.
