OPP is a for-profit social venture formed to create compelling and sustainable art and media projects that participate in the co-operative development of 21st Century culture. A portion of all profits go back to the communities in which we explore. OPP has multiple exciting projects in the works, and you're invited to participate.

Our view on this enterprise...

Organic Process curates art, media and other immersive experiences to appreciative audiences while working to create a one-to-one support network for artists and journalists. We experiment with content, technology and community, but also with innovative business ideas that we believe will lead to a healthier and more sustainable future. Such as? Well... all we can say right now is, watch this space.

What's a for-profit social venture?

We didn't invent the word "profit" -- we inherited it, along with all its imputed and contextual meanings. With that in mind, we see these as ideas as the fundamentals of our for-profit social venture:

Doing things with right intention, while contemplating ways to make them economically sustainable, is a good thing. We aim to create a reasonable surplus of funds from the projects we undertake (read: not make a killing) by producing and marketing things we feel are of value to others.

We leverage technology and talent to deliver high-impact experiences as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

A portion of our profits will always go back into the communities that support us.

If the community we form values what we do, it will support us economically. In exchange for this support we should deliver artistic value as expected in the marketplace.

Our projects and productions should make people feel a little more alive. We believe any capitalist, socialist or anarchist of reasonable demeanor will pay money for such a thing.

We aim to have a work culture that inspires individual responsibility, hard work and meaning. By doing so we think we can attract talented people to work with us via flexible and fair business terms.

We think we can produce meaningful art and narrow-cast it to appropriate audiences more efficiently than big media can produce coverage of Paris Hilton and broadcast it to the “masses.”

What we do...

Media Production

* Documentary Video – OPP is a producer and distributor of independent digital video and cause-marketing documentary films.
* Books – OPP is a publisher and distributor of a variety of art & poetry books as well as buddhist teachings. We are engaged in several projects, including graphic novels, photo journals and some projects marrying books with music, live performance and other forms.
* Solo Journalism - OPP is developing a new style of documentary art created by a solo creator. Our groundbreaking project Falling Together in New Orleans is our first experiment with this new journalistic genre.

Event Production

* OPP produces multimedia art events and tours, incorporating music, art, video and other immersive media. These events are viewed as an important part of the marketing strategy for our projects and our attempt to expose independent artists to their own and other communities. We will be on tour throughout 2007-2008 with the Hurricane Katrina Campus Media Project.
