We are a collection of abolitionists who are speaking and acting against the growing threats of mass atrocities and modern slavery in our world today. We envision a world that is free from these severe problems and we are eager to implement the change needed to protect every single individual from them.

Operation Broken Silence is a nonprofit that strives to protect the innocent by confronting social affliction and building a new generation of abolitionists who envision a world without mass atrocities and modern slavery.

In 2007, we created our organization Operation Broken Silence (OBS) in response to the genocide being committed in Darfur. Educating the public as well as ourselves immediately became a top priority as we realized that genocide and targeted mass killing were extremely complicated and fast-changing issues. In 2010, we were approached by additional abolitionists who sought to end modern slavery as well. Seeing a passion just as vibrant as our own, we invited them on board to join us.

OBS now aims to achieve 2 main goals:

Create a global genocide and prevention ending system while funding community level protection and economic investment projects in communities at risk or suffering from mass atrocities

Strategically implement campaigns for the abolishment of modern slavery through prevention and awareness, cooperation with prosecution of traffickers, and protection and rehabilitation for survivors.

Operation Broken Silence is headquartered in Memphis, TN.

Our approach to our three focus areas is based on those who have lived through them. Since the beginning, we have spoken to countless survivors of mass atrocities and modern slavery. These people often times best know what the solutions are. We also work with other organizations, individuals, churches, schools, and many others who are looking to protect every single individual from these problems. As a non-profit, we work to transform apathy into idealism, and idealism into action.

Our long-term goals are not based on merely saving lives, but also bringing permanent solutions to both of these issues so as to protect future generations from their deadly effects.
