I began taking photographs after my first daughter was born in 2002, when I suffered severe postpartum depression. Photography became a spiritual practice of sorts which allowed me to focus on the beautiful things in a world that seemed so out of control and full of ugliness. I felt like I walked around with a grey veil over my face, and photography became a way for me to literally see myself back into well-being.

Mostly, I used my point and shoot and after awhile, I borrowed a Nikon Manual from a friend. Recently, I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel, and I'm happily snapping away after a few years off. My photos reflect the simple landscape of my life with my 2 daughters: the messes at the kitchen table, the dancing in the living room, the swingset, and the other lovely stolen moments in between.

This past January, I entered art school to study the art & business of digital photography. I've also gotten back into film with my Diana Mini film camera and my SX 70 Polaroid.
