I have had a love of photography ever since I got my first camera for my 3rd birthday. It was one of those plastic Fisher-Price toy cameras with a yellow flash that spun around when you pressed the shutter and a lens that actually turned. Here it is, with me snapping pictures:

My parents said I loved that camera and was always taking people's pictures. I still have the camera today, where it sits in its own special spot.

My equipment has changed over the years (thank goodness) but my passion for photography has only grown. I love to try and capture something special in my photos - a moment, an expression, an emotion, color or light.

I currently shoot with a Nikon D90 and 90% of the time, I'm using my 50mm f/1.8. I try to capture just what I'm looking for in the camera before I push the shutter. I've never used Photoshop but would love to learn how someday (I'm so inspired by the amazing post-processing work of my contacts).

Live fully in the present moment. You miss out on seeing so many beautiful things when you're thinking about the past or worried about the future. You can only live fully right now.

-summertime
-traveling the world
-the sound of children laughing
-the lime green color of spring
-thunderstorms
-a smile from someone passing by
-unconditional love
-the first warm day after a long winter
-the smell of freshly mowed grass
-long walks in the woods
-family
-a good book
-flowers
-watching the sunset
-the smell of rain
-the sound of the ocean

I believe we are "One World" and we are all connected. I believe in Karma. The thoughts, emotions and actions that you send out into the world will come back to you tenfold. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday. If we treated everyone like we treat our own loved ones, the world would be a much different place. I believe we can all make a difference. No act of kindness is too small.
