Oliver Percival

New England landscapes and architecture greatly influence and inform the sensibilities and proportions of my work. There is intrinsic elegance and beauty between Victorian and Colonial architecture and the landscapes they are apart of. The natural hues of the wood reflect the fiery and breathy colors of the autumn forests and marshes of Maine. These environmental and architectural influences convey a sense of nostalgia, familiarity and comfort in my work. The delicate slopes and the warm natural tones begin to divulge a subtle and poetic narrative that invites engagement and discovery. The meaning and beauty in my work lies within these interactions.
