I was born in Gordon, Ohio. Went to country school. Worked as a cowboy near Show Low, Arizona. Enlisted in US Army just before Korean War ended. Spent 3 years in Japan in Sendai and north at Sapporo. Worked in R&D at National Cash Register Company. Left NCR to teach Com Art. Formed own business while teaching and went to work full time in my business and sold business just after completing 13-week television series partially sponsored by Parker Pen Ltd. Have been retired since 1989. Have written about 30 books; made dozens of how-to videos, sold many oil paintings (the largest are 12 feet long) to institutions, and began creating web sites several years ago. Have done illustrations for national magazines. Have been married for 50 years and have 5 grown children. I also worked undercover for Pinkerton's ó whose founder protected my cousin during the Civil War.
