A long time amateur photographer building up expertise in digital photography.

Way back then I would shoot the occasional photo with a Brownie camera. A few years later discovered the amazing capabilities and range offered with 35mm film cameras.

Got real serious for a while, learning how to develop my own film, and then messing with the chemicals and light sensitive paper in a darkroom. Slaving away all night to get that one good print.

Work got in the way, and then I dropped out of doing serious photography for quite a few years and concentrated on building up computer expertise which was my bread and butter for most of my life.

Originally, computers were primarily used for 'computing' - that is, messing around with numbers. But one day, I noticed that more and more graphic content was being shown on computer screens, and even some great photos.

At first, there were no digital cameras, and you had to scan a regular photo with a scanner to be able to show it on a computer. And you had to have really high end computer equipment to do it justice.

I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great to be able to work with photos on a computer instead of in a darkroom.

Amazingly that day came along a lot sooner than I imagined. Along with the development of digital photography and the rapid upgrade of afffordable computers available to the average consumer to work with these photos.

And finally, in just the last year or so, the final element - photos on the internet so the whole world can share and comment.
