Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting a few hundred times; with a D-SLR, I'm quite willing to bracket things excessively.

I've lived in a few interesting places (Anguilla, Sealand, Iraq, elsewhere in the middle east), and traveled a lot through Asia, Europe, and the US.

Having a camera means instantly having a "role" in any setting; you're the guy with the camera, even if you don't know anyone there or want to interact. I aspire to becoming a Japanese tourist stereotype, obviously...

I'd like to upgrade to a Canon 5D mk II and 580 ex II flash, with some L glass, but that probably won't happen until late 2009.

I have tens of thousands of middle east/military/airfield/etc. photos which I haven't uploaded -- some of which are actually quite good. Unfortunately, OPerational SECurity demands that a lot of them not be published until the information is no longer current (locations of specific buildings, security measures).

I use Adobe Lightroom to manage and upload photos; my goal is to spend time retouching any image which is popular on flickr, or which appears to be worth the effort.
