The New Zealand Rose Society aims to implant the rose into the hearts and gardens of the people of New Zealand.

At a local level, district rose societies offer members regular meetings, guest speakers, garden visits, regular newsletters, roses shows and more.

On a national level, the New Zealand Rose Society produces publications such as the New Zealand Rose Annual, the New Zealand Rose Review and the Cultural Handbook, conducts trials of new roses at its trial grounds in Palmerston North and co-ordinates the hosting of National Spring and Autumn Conventions held in various locations.

The New Zealand Rose Society is a founding member of the World Federation of Rose Societies, an international body representing 40 National rose societies worldwide.
