I grew up in Papakura, New Zealand, now living in California in the USA.

Three things have contributed to my desire to take photos
1.) Growing up in New Zealand you are surrounded by natural beauty so you naturally have a desire to capture it in photos.
2.) Time as a Geology & Geophysics student took me into the outdoors a lot - exposing me to more nature and scenery.
3.) My father was a stock photographer who did wedding and portrait work for a while.

With the advent of digital photography and the freedom it presents I've taken it up more seriously as a passionate hobby.
I've chosen to go down the Nikon road, due partly to my younger experiences with Nikon gear and the advantage I feel they have in lenses and compatibility with old lens stock.

I've had a few photos published in publications, the most widely distributed being in the December 2007 issue of San Francisco Magazine, and some shots in the Getty/Flickr partnership.

Note: While my cc licensing is generally non-commerical use or tighter I am very happy to discuss use of my photos for other purposes.

Just drop me a note and we may be able to come to an agreement. Also please note that while my images on flickr may be restricted to a maximum dimension of 800px, I do have the full res versions offline.
