I'm sure that this will date me but my first camera as a child was my father's Kodak Box Brownie. I still remember the shutter release on that thing, a small tab that you slid down, if it was in the up position, or up, if it was in the down position. It was with that camera that I discovered double exposures since I was only told to slide the tab down to make an exposure. :)

Several Kodak cameras later, I purchased my first SLR, a Kowa SER, in high school. It wasn't until college that I graduated to a Nikon F, and then only because my girlfriend, now wife, owned one. I now shoot with the Canon 1Ds2 ever since it was released and the Canon 10D before that. I also generally use either Canon L zooms or Zeiss wide angle primes that have been adapted to the Canon EOS camera.

Fortunately, I was born and raised in the Seattle area so I was exposed to a lot of beautiful outdoor scenes from a very early age. A love for the outdoors eventually grew into a passion to record it so others could see what I have.

April 24, 2007 marked a turning point in my life. On that date, I left a well-paid secure position with a large corporation to embark on the very insecure lifestyle of a full-time landscape photographer. Your support has given me hope that some day I may have some success. Thank you. I'm hoping that you will continue to find something that pleases you in these images.

Now for the commercial ... All images shown may be purchased as fine art prints or licensed. Please contact me through Flickr or at demersonh@comcast.net for details.

"When i think about a Landscape picture, i think about Don, He has really mastered this subject very well, his in depth understanding of this subject can been seen in his pictures, his picture "Edge of Nothingness" is my favorite landscape, I've never seen any other landscape picture with such a beauty.

I've always believed that its the Composition that contributes over 70% in the beauty of the picture, and Don has mastered that skill in the best possible way.

Its my dream, or i should say that I've it on my list to go out for a Landscape photography with Don, and i am going to get it done in my Life time, i don't care if I've to fly over 7 different timezones to catchup with him.

    God Bless...

    Cheers,
    Saurabh"

"Don is simply one of the finest photographers I have ever come to know. We both love fine landscape imagery, but Don is one of the few people that consistanly prodeces STRONG work. Sometimes I look through his stream and I just look at my camera and shake my head. Breathtaking is the word, as his imagery fills my fav file. I look forward to working with and learning from Don. Very kind, humble and approachable, Don is the kind of guy who makes a fantastic teacher and mentor. Now, go into his stream, sit back, and enjoy!
