When I was a teenager I had a camera just because it was a fun toy and only sometimes did I take a serious shot, but without any idea or ability to tweak the shots they generally came back with stickers atop my art chiding me for my crappy exposure. I resisted sending them back and complaining about their printing ability.

I've been taking photographs semi-seriously for the last six years since I dropped out of university when I bought my first digital camera a Canon Digital Ixus 300.

I started off just taking shots of the city I lived in, loved and knew. After a while I started taking a few arty shots.

Which convinced me that I should take a summer course at the Edinburgh College Of Art where I learnt how to do black and white taught by Richard Boll.

All the shots above and the rest were taken in one rather hurried hour on that course having managed to destroy my original film in the dark room. Technical issues like that are a feature of my photography!

I then did a summer course which let me produce the following, the square ones were taken with my grandfather's medium format camera and tripod. Both heavy but very much fun to use.

Not long after these courses I departed Edinburgh to live in London. I now have a Pentax *ist DL DSLR and rather miss analogue. Here's some more recent faves:
