I am a resident of Langley City. I moved to the Lower Mainland after completing school to work at a local television station. Langley was the ideal place for me to be located due to the location in the Valley and its connection to our past and its land. Walking in the downtown core or strolling through Portage Park reminds me of the community I grew up in, Vernon. Langley City and the whole South of Fraser is a special place, and it is a place I want to see protected even as it grows. Ensuring that we are connected with our environment and urban form is something of great importance to me. That is why I currently support organizations that advocate for growth while maintaining the connection to our green space. I have also co-founded South Fraser OnTrax and the Greater Langley Cycling Coalition. I have also attended lectures by the UBC Sustainable by Design and SFU City Programs which have explained some of the complexities of communities.
