    Fogel's Focus says:

"Bob is more than a photographer, he is a friend and mentor. He freely gives of his time for advice on technical issues. Far from just putting great photos in his photostream, Bob regularly looks at others' photos and gives thougtful/helpful commentary. I am glad to call Bob a friend. Hope to meet you live in Chicago some day."

    EllenJo says:

"Mr. No Traces is one of the most inspiring photographers on Flickr.

Besides his obvious technical skill and expertise with film, he has a fine knack for capturing those moments, the undefinable fleeting bits of beauty and wonder that make us all happy to be alive...
Wayward glances, wild gestures and expressions, a perfect light in the wilderness and on the lake, at a diner, or on a street-- a movement, an amusing interaction-- these are all thing Bob is master of seeing and catching.

Every time I look at his photos I feel happier, smarter, more inspired, ready to emulate what he has got going on.

Thanks Bob for making Flickr even more fantastic."

"Like a lot of the finest photographers, Bob has a fantastic eye for composition and color. He's a terrific photographer. But he's also deeply into the craft, which isn't something that's obvious in the little Flickr images. Take my word, Bob knows the darkroom like the back of his hand. I envy his skill and patience. Plus, what a great family!"

"Bob has been back and forth when it comes to the art of taking pictures. He has a good eye, as photographers say, and what is more, he observes and comments on whatever you think is great in a most gentle manner..."

"Aside from being one of the friendliest fellows on flickr, Bob is a master photographer. His night shots sucked me in, but I stay because I enjoy watching him successfully experiment with all sorts of mediums. The man is not afraid of a toy camera!

"Knowing" Bob through flickr has inspired me to take more chances as a photographer. So thanks for that, Mr. NoTraces."

"I agree with some of the things that have just been said, but the sub aqueous qualities of Bob's photostream brings forth the eclectically significant imagery which threatens to elucidate the visual exploration.

I can't say plainer than that.

He is an absolute star - and he has the most beautiful dog ever!
Any man who loves his dog as much as Bob loves Lainey is all right in my book.

    Gawd bless him!""

"okay the obvious--he is the master of night shots:)

and perhaps if you haven't spent time in his stream besides looking at all the pretty pictures--this may not be as obvious--he's *ridiculously* helpful, and friendly, despite his high skill level :)

what you may not know however, is that he will likely be a reason for my financial ruin (or at the very least get me in trouble with my spouse ;-)...his photographic enthusiasm has spilled over, to more than myself i'm sure.

thanks for all the advice, the wonderful photographs, and being active on flickr!"

"There's too much to say about this man. A great inspiration and one of the people that has shared his knowledge and lessons learned. Of those many lessons, one thing that I take to heart everytime I go out with the camera is to shoot everything that makes you smile. And if others enjoy it, so much the better.

Oh and the more cameras you have the better =P"

"Bob's work is phenomenal. His long exposures are perfect, and no amount of (my) trying will ever duplicate them. He's also been very successful branching into the portait arena--with very nice results!

Bob is always a strong, supportive presence and makes us laugh outloud when he comments on our photos. Thanks Bob for all that you do!"
