The Northern Illawarra is situated just one hour south of Sydney, wedged between the escarpment and the sea - these suburbs of Wollongong (from Thirroul, north to Helensburgh) have many spectacular features... some of these features include;

- Bald Hill (well known for its spectacular view and hangliding),
- the Illawarra Escarpment and Royal National Park,
- Sea Cliff Bridge and Grand Pacific Drive,
- and Sri Venkateswara (Hindu) Temple, to name a few...

Northern Illawarra Online (NiO) is a portal to this region, providing a comprehensive directory of Accommodation, Real Estate, Arts and Art Galleries, Cafes and Restaurants as well as Trades and Services, plus a vast array of specialty shops, while also listing events and publishing online news.
