Hi! I'm Norrie, just turned 50 (2009), Scottish by descent and living with my partner in Shrewsbury, UK. I like to take pictures - business, pleasure, family - as I go about my day to day activities. I'll share some I like and some I think document interesting or important things.

I mainly compose in the camera rather than post process, partly through a history of using slides, partly because I don't have much time! I work in Children's and Young People's Services, which accounts for the pictures of schools (I only post photos of pupils in schools publicly if they've been cleared for publication or parents have given permission in advance to their schools).

I've still got the two Fuji Finepix - an S9600 crossover and and F20 pocket camera. I'd recommend either for their (different) functions. The S9600 has advantages over an SLR for me because I spend time in dusty environments. The F20 is small (I used to have a phone which was bigger!) but packed with features and takes photos in remarkably low light. Both have good lenses, so any problems are mine :D

However, I'm now converting to my new cameras - a Canon EOS 50D with EF 29-320mm f3.5-5.6 IS and 80mm f1.8 prime lenses (focal lengths in 35mm equivalent), and a Finepix 200EXR. The 200EXR has a wider zoom range (5x and starts wider) and technically should be better in low light than the F20, but I'm still learning. The 50D is awesome. I'm having difficulty keeping up posting what I shoot.
