Both my mother and brother are professional photographers. As you can see, I am not. However, I greatly enjoy taking pictures. Some of my pictures are simple snapshots of the surroundings (to give one a perspective) or of friends and family, but I really prefer taking pictures of smaller items that catch my eye. It's usually a more focused point of a larger picture or of something odd/peculiar that people wouldn't normally take a photograph of (a street sign for instance).

Also, when I'm visiting something of particular interest (museum, church, etc) I like to document the informational plaques/text that usually accompany the photographs. It not only helps me remember what I saw there, but I also find is a good aid for others who view the pictures.

You'll probably see that not all my pictures are in the best lighting or even in focus. If one exists in a collection it's because I felt it more important to keep it as record than destroy it.
