I am a Irish Fine Gael politician and am currently a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Tipperary North constituency.

I was elected at the 2007 general election to Dáil Éireann for Tipperary North. I was previously a member of the 22nd Seanad Éireann in 2002 for Fine Gael, elected by the Cultural and Educational Panel.

I am the Fine Gael Deputy spokesperson on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources with special responsibility for Telecommunications since October 2007.

I am president of the Collins 22 Society.
