EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY

There are two collections of photos here. The FILM collection is to display photos I've taken with a variety of 35mm cameras, especially my Mini Diana lomo camera. Then there's the DIGITAL collection, which I recently decided to include, since I much prefer sharing photos here over doing it on Facebook.

Somewhere between losing my first digital camera and having the second one self-destruct, I kind of lost interest in digital photography...but I'm trying to get back into it. It has nothing to do with the technology as such, but more to do with the way people use it. People have always taken crap photographs, but these days, with pretty much everyone owning a digital camera, it's just getting beyond ridiculous and it feels like we are drowning in a sea of photographic mediocrity.

So, dig out our old 35mm point-and-shoot or just buy a disposable camera at your local newsagent. Just the fact that you have to spend money to see what you have captured will make you think alot more about how you use it.

Or...you know...if you just have to use your digital camera.....at least put a little thought into it. Or don't....whatever.

None of the 35mm photos have been manipulated in any way after the picture was taken. When using the Mini Diana I mainly take square pictures and since a film frame is rectangular the only thing I've done is crop the pictures, in order to remove the black space on the side of each frame. Some of the lomo pictures are taken using half frames. These have also been cropped.
