"As a visual documentarian, my objective is to not merely present the issues, but to uplift the inspiring, empowering, and motivating stories of people from all walks of life. By using film, photography, and design, it is my goal to use visual storytelling as a medium to empower people to act compassionately, to love wholeheartedly, and to respond responsibly to the images they see. Whether it be through giving a financial donation, providing a word of encouragement, or lifting up a prayer for those in need, I hope that others will feel a close connection to the people I photograph– the way I do."

From documenting a widow with leprosy in the jungles of Vietnam, to providing scholarships for victims of rape in Zambia, furthering social justice through the arts has been a vital part of Nikole’s ministry around the globe. By using film and photography, Nikole seeks to empower women by giving them a voice to share their stories of difficulty and triumph, while fighting stigmas affecting women worldwide.

Nikole is the Founder and Director of Freely in Hope, a developing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and children to overcome adversity and live freely in hope by liberating young women from sexual oppression, providing opportunities for dignified work, and advocating security through education. Freely in Hope operates in Kenya providing micro-business training courses for widows, psychological counseling, vocational courses, and scholarships for girls who are victims of rape, single mothers, or living in slum communities.

Nikole graduated with a degree in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University in 2009 and resides near San Francisco. She is an active member of The Salvation Army and works with inner-city youth.
