I’m primarily a self taught artist located in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. I drew my first Nightmare Tank quite a while ago and have recently got back into drawing and painting these. It’s a good way to express my anxieties as well as a reoccurring feeling that something bad is awaiting nearby: I often worry about cancer, car crashes, epidemics, random violent crime, going crazy, terrorism, the shit hitting the fan, and the apocalypse.

These tanks, machines, or mechanical monsters terrorize in the worst ways. They implement a myriad of guns, missiles and rockets, but they also cause destruction on a raw and primal level, with the gratuitous use of axes, drills, saws…all manner of cutting, slicing and crushing. I also imagine some of these tanks as being gigantic. Perhaps the size of buildings. I do try to express a sense of humor, satire and exaggeration, much like giant creatures destroying cities in Japanese monster films, however, seeing such an attack or an invasion of these monstrous machines would be a nightmarish vision.
