Hi, my name's Nicky and I live in Nottingham, UK. I have been taking photos since I was little, but only started to take my hobby a bit more seriously a few years ago.

The first camera I owned was a 35mm compact from Boots, which cost about £15. I think I had it for Christmas. It was made of lightweight black plastic and was extremely basic. The only features it had was a tiny little viewfinder, a shutter release button and a wheel to wind on the film.

My second camera was a Pentax ME Super SLR, which I bought second hand. The features were way better than the compact and I really enjoyed using it. Unfortunately it mis-fired a lot and the film would get stuck so in the end I gave up with it and moved onto digital.

My first digital camera was a Sony DSC-P31 compact that was very basic, but it was all I could afford at the time. It had a small viewfinder, a postage stamp sized screen on the back and a 2 megapixel sensor. I used it for a long time, until the images started coming out blurred, so I ditched it and moved onto using the family's Kodak Z740 for a while.

Eventually, after seeing my Brother buy his first digital SLR, I copied him and bought a Nikon D50. I bought it from John Lewis just as it was being fazed out and it cost me £397. It was a cracking little camera and I never had a bad word to say about it. I happily used it for ages until the Nikon D90 came out and I was finally tempted to upgrade, mainly because I wanted a bigger screen.

I've had my Nikon D90 for about 3 years now and I love it. It does everything I want a camera to do and I wouldn't change it for the world!

So, that's my little camera life story and now here's a list of my kit:

Nikon D90 body

Nikon 18-200mm f3.5-f5.6 VR lens
Nikon 10.5mm f2.8 fisheye lens
Nikon 105mm f2.8 macro VR lens
Nikon 50mm f1.8 standard lens

Velbon CX 440 tripod
Jessops 223 monopod

Lowepro Flipside 200 backpack

I would like to get another wide angle lens, something like a 12-24mm. I did have one a while ago, but traded it in for my 1.8 when money was tight.

Thanks for reading and now go and enjoy my photostream and don't forget to comment on something if you like it :)
