I am Nick, I just recently got into photography, say maybe a year or so ago.
I started out with a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm f/1.8 and a Sakar 80-200mm f/3.5-4.5 and a macro adapter. As I started to expand in my photography, I found that the AE-1 really had its limits. I decided that it was time to "Go Digi".
I now have a Canon EOS 400D, with the Kit Lens (EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) and a EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. I am much more satisfied.
As for why I started, I was inspired by my friend Chris, who also has a flickr:

I haven't been on Flickr very long, so I'm still working on this account.
My favorite shots to shoot are landscapes, and waterscapes. And the occasional portrait. I also like experimenting with strobing, as lighting is very interesting, and the results are often stunning.
