"i think i can safely say my images are as flimsy as ever, so no worries there. i have barely made any progress artistically, i have hardly matured at all. my technique, however, has improved somewhat. these days i tend to add scans of perfectly good water colours i did in times gone by and distress the hell out of them, juggling "sabi" and "wabi" concepts like there is no tomorrow, ending up with, predictably, fairly "wasabi" images: sweet and pungent like the condiment of the japanese cuisine."(...)

"as i was refelecting on (the images), my appreciation for the strength of the design and the composition of both the original images and the next layer of rendering grew and grew. the images do so take on a life that for me is theatrical in a sense. your embellishment to the original thoughtful and expressive images, it strikes me, is a costume, in addition to being a filter of insight and expression."
