byrne.images (out on assignment) says:
"Have you had the chance to meet the Newfie Bullet? I finally did, and it was a fantastic experience. 2+ years on Flickr and nearly the oldest contact I possess, the chance came spontaneously to meet in Las Vegas of all places. Rod & Penney have to be my friends if they survived my navigational skills... The Bullet has the most wonderful talent of sight-to-image that I've seen. His images still provide me with inspiration and ideas, as well as a reminder of what 'green' looks like to an old desert rat. The list below still applies, but a few changes were due:
Ten things (at the very least) that Rod Bailey and I have in common:
1. Hockey Fan
2. Smarts enough to marry the right Woman
3. Shawshank Redemption
4. Hunt for Red October
5. Harrison Ford
6. Morgan Freeman
7. The Green Mile
8. Great Music
9. Seeing the details of a landscape, and knowing how to enjoy it
10. The Moon
It's true for the nay-sayers, you can meet someone from the interenet in person and it's OK...my place is yours anytime. Thanx for the encouragement and inspiration, Rod, I’m looking forward to seeing the latest additions to your photostream when I sign in…

"Always a good friend with a fine sense of humour, Rod has a natural talent for seeing an image in a most unique way . Being as how we share the same last name, I've even wondered whether we're related, but probably not, cause he's a lot smarter :) All kidding aside, Rod, it's great to have a fellow Hab fan and friend far across the country to touch base with !"

"The underlying and constant message in all the testimonials for Rod, The Newfie Bullet is that he is creative, innovative, friendly and a constant friend. I fully support all these statements from other. In addition to all these other positive messages, I want to say that The Newfie Bullet’s pictures cover the entire spectrum of colour and theme. You can find on his photostream spectacular scenic pictures from all over Canada, you can find pictures and recipes for good old snacks and gourmet meals. You will see pics of beer that will send you to your fridge hoping so see the chill of the glass. You can find superb shots of weekend warriers with hockey sticks, and juniors soon to be in the NHL. And you can see moon shots that are truly out of this world.
I always look forward to seeing The Newfie Bullet pics turn up on my contacts page, and I know that I will get a quick response to any questions I ask. Rod also helped give me the confidence to post my pics, to comment on others, and finally to assist in moderating a group.
I feel very honoured to have Rod, The Newfie Bullet as my friend."1st December, 2007

"There are good photographers who can capture a moment in time, and then there are great photographers with wonderful visualization who can CREATE a moment in time.
Rod is undoubtedly one of those creators. His work is most interesting, rich with pleasurable scenes, colors and textures and stories.
Another appreciable asset that Rod possesses is his friendly demeanor and his time spent to leave a wonderful comment that shares his enjoyment for your work as well!
I invite viewers to scroll through all the pages and share in Rod's creations as he has made a great place for us all to visit via his images!"2nd September, 2007

lifecreations says:
"Newfie: from the Tigerzeye dictionary...A term used most commonly as a short form for a person or persons deriving from the native Newfoundland. These persons are known throughout Canada as being some of, if not, the most friendly person or persons within the noted Country. For reasons unknown, inhabitants of his province generally migrate to the more central locale of Canada, presumably for work and or human reproduction.
The reasons are unknown as New-found-land is one of two most beautiful provinces in said Country. However it's beauty is seen in the person or persons raised within.
Bullet: from the Tigerzeye dictionary...An inanimate or animate object that boasts such characteristics as being very sharp, to the point, fast, always on the mark, and not to be mistaken with objects that are harmful.
Although I have never met Rod, I feel that one day we will meet up and possibly discuss the closure of the Maple Leafs and Canadien's franchise ove a couple of strong drinks. His pictures are of what I would call Quality, and I thoroughly enjoy spending time going through them. He has become one of my most frequent visitors to my stream and his comments are always uplifting.
One day I'm sure his wife will buy him a DSLR, but for now, keep shooting what you love my friend, and I will always check in for the latest from the Newfie Bullet"26th February, 2007

"Rod "Newfie Bullet" was my first Flickr friend to comment on one of my photos, and also my first contact. He has an amazing photostream which is a result of his eye for detail. He must be one of the most active Flickr members I know, and one of the friendliest as well. Finally, anyone who calls himself a Hab fan and devotes one of his sets to "Beer" is a friend of mine!!!"
