"I think I'm pretty lucky for finding Michael's photos on Flickr. His photos are a breath of fresh air. He's a photographer in the true sense of the word. He has a unique ability to capture a "feeling" with that camera in his hand. If you're looking for someone who takes photos of the same thing that everyone else does, this is not your guy. If you're looking for someone original, someone who doesn't care what others think, and someone who truly shows his talent in every photo that he chooses to share with us, then you've found the right guy. Sit back. Have a look. You'll like what you find here.

Thank you, Michael, for sharing your vision with us. It continues to be a pleasure!"

"Duff is high maintenance - way too talky type - you know the kind of people who don't ever stop yakking especially about themselves ... always concerned about being at the hippest place with the newest "cool" people.

Maybe he gets lucky every now and then with a semi decent photo.

    ....maybe I exaggerate a little ...."

"Michael is an amazing photographer who is a master of mood. He creates deep and dark tales with creativity and clear intent. His technical ability continues to impress me with every frame! "Michael is simply the best photographer that I have never met." (Now I can no longer say that! We recently met at a photo opening in which one of
Mikes shots was a part of. It sold too!)"

"Michael is simply one of my absolute favorite photographers.

While I love all of Michael's work, it is his abandonment photos that really drew me in, particularly and most powerfully his self-portraits in these places. They invoke a visceral reaction that often leaves me breathless. The images speak to that darkest, saddest place in me and are like a hand being held out into the blackness—you are not alone."

"I was shocked to notice that I have not yet written a testimonial for Duff, as I have been a fan of his work for quite some time now. Michael's artistic expressions always stimulate the eye and challenge the soul -- the kind of work that inspires others to reach deeper."

"Simply put, each photograph, each word, DEMANDS contemplation. Duff will absolutely pierce your core. There's no skimming through his body of work. No one will leave it the same as when they arrived. And THAT, my friends, is what ART is all about!"

"i have to say first: i am not a real fan of cars.
but so many of his car-photographs are so great that even i love 'em ;-)

his portraits are gorgeous, giving some great insight of the person in front of the lense, making me laugh, making me sad.

all in one: duff is a great photographer who takes pictures that have a soul.

    keep it up!!!"

"I think that Sunset Sailor has put it perfectly. Michael's blending of deep feelings and excellent photography both charms and challenges those of us who are lucky enough to have found his photos.
Thanks Duff for a lot of enjoyment - and many reasons to count my blessings when I see the struggles of others in your heart-touching portraits."

    Sunset Sailor says:

"Duff (Michael) puts his soul into his photographs. I think what brought me to his photo stream was a comment that someone had made, with an accompanying photo showing him lying on his back photographing an upward perspective of a gravestone. At least that is my recollection of it. Anyway, I discovered his work, and through his work I have discovered some of his personality as a human being. He has a true passion for expression and shows that in his photos, but also displays it in a careful selection of prose and stories sometimes adorning his work. In his words and photos, you can see his passion for life and his wonder for the universe as a whole. Some people are very smart; some people are very talented; people as a whole exceed in a variety of ways. Duff is balanced across all the talents and that’s what I look for in a person. Okay, sometimes he’s unbalanced, but that’s part of his charm. Duff Suds, the photographer, and Michael Bowman, the man (and firman I might add) is a credit to society and the world of photography and art. We can all learn from his passion and his work. That said, go pop yourself a Duff Suds, Michael, and don’t get a big head over this. Here’s to you!"

    Gwyn Michael says:

"I was so impressed by Michael's photo's from the moment I found him that I knew I would write a testimonial, but I waited. What I realize now, is that the time will never be right, because he continues to astound in new ways, every time I think I've seen it all. What first attracted me to Duff, was his portraits, which are technically exceptional, but what makes them unique, is his ability to draw out the soul in his subjects. That holds true, even when he shoots a rusty old truck, or a lone desk. He perceives things in a way that is remarkable, and then explains them with an eloquence that is like a precious gift.

I have learned much by watching this young man, and look forward to seeing where he will go!

    D'oh!

Plus I hate him because I feel compelled to fave 99% of all his shots!"
