RL me vs. SL me

I am a visual artist who has worked with acrylic painting, ink drawings on paper, and digital composition.

Most of my recent work has been created in the virtual world of Second Life, where I have been exhibiting since 2005. I am drawn to New Media arts and to virtual communities for their groundbreaking experimental and interactive potential.

I have recently begun accepting commission work; please contact me through my Flickr account if you are interested in commissioning a piece.

Artist Statement

My art, an extension of my consciousness, is continuously evolving; it aims to elicit a visceral response in the viewer or participant. I refer to the style of my work overall as chromotive, meaning that I am quite particular in my use of color to capture emotion & mood; I create what I feel & perceive through and observation and introspection.

The subject of my work is generally about or influenced by:

Color. Emotion. Intellect. The Four Seasons. The Six Senses. Auras. Mist. Fog. Shadows. Blood. Flesh. Pain. Fire. Grief. Tears. Rage. Red and blue. Indigo. Lightning. Owls. Birds. Wings. Flight. Crystals. Glass. Silver. Metallic. Neon. Eyes. The soul. Sharp objects. Glowing. Light passing through glass, liquid. Facial expressions. Crumbling buildings. Skulls. Sex. Death. Evil. Cold. Ice. Winter. Snow. Fall. Autumn. Smoke. The sea. Water. Deep pools. Parallel universes. Dreams. Psychic abilities. Stars. Nebulae. Magic. Synchronicity. The moon. The wisdom of trees. The third eye. The higher plane of consciousness. Suffering. Isolation. Swords and knives. Angels. Vampires. Feeling inhuman/unhuman.

* I do NOT consider "SL photography" to be an art form in 99% of all cases.

Although they might be interesting to look at, more often than not they lack any real substance, and I do not take them seriously.

I do take a lot of Second Life snapshots, and I have fun playing around with them, but they are not and should not be considered part of my body of artwork. I document my snapshots here to mainly keep a record of the things I've done in SL.

"Fantastic and Tragic. Amazingly crazy. Tortured and holy. I aspire to be Neb. If I could live inside Neb's pocket, for the rest of my life, no matter the smell, I would.
Delves into the parts of humanity, we dare not discover. I love Neb."

    Klink Epsilon says:

"Neb was the first artist I ever met in Second Life. I have watched her art evolve from just pictures of her RL art on a prim to emotion provoking art installations.

I cannot describe how awesome Neb's art is. She one of a very few artists that I have a collection of their SL work.

Neb is one of a few talented artists I have had the pleasure of being around and who I look up to."

"Collaborating with Nebulosus on the exhibition Salon Du Disruptif was one of the most rewarding creative experiences I've ever had. She's been a massive supporter of mine during some stressful times and is a great friend.

For me, Neb is the most exciting and talented artist in Second Life. I love her work because it always surprises me and moves me on so many different levels."
