Beginning with a historic planning meeting in Los Angeles in early October 2008 and continuing with a planned public event in DC in Spring 2009, the Summit seeks to highlight successful cross-cultural initiatives to deepen and strengthen the ties that bind our communities.

Simply, we all want to make sure our children have good schools, our neighborhoods are affordable and healthy, and our families are economically secure.

The foundation for a strong cross-cultural movement for equity is already laid. From youth groups in inner-city Los Angeles fighting for educational equity to new coalitions to protect the rights of immigrants in the South and the Midwest, successful bridges have already been built between our communities.

By spreading these stories of hope throughout the nation, we can sow seeds of promise in countless communities and truly see Solidarity for America's Future.
