I've been into photography since my son was born 18 years ago, but up until 4 years ago, all of my pictures consisted of one subject....my son. I wanted to try and take it more seriously right around the time I turned 40. So my husband surprised me with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi for my 40th birthday. (I cried like a baby in front of 50 people.) Now I shoot with a Canon 7D. I try hard not to take photography too seriously, I just want to have fun and make the best images I can, whether it be a photograph of my son or a cup of coffee.
I'm a photoshop freak. To me editing is just as much fun as taking the pictures.
In 2010 I started shooting my son's ice hockey games. It became an addiction and I now shoot the entire high school league, middle school through varsity. It's an obsession of mine. Our team has their own flickr stream which you can view here:
