My photos aere used by many painters professionnals and amateurs, to inspire their compositions.
From now on Feb 21st 2012 I do not let the free use by painters of my photos. I ask for a basic fee. And accept sell exclusive reproduction right to painters for one photo.
A person that has bought a peculiar photo is not allowed to have it reproduced for a painting and or for resale or whatever the technique used.

Faced with 24 years Lyme disease chronic pain symptoms, acquired when thick bitten while backpacking the US Appalachian Trail ; I had, for sheer sanity, to turn my hobbies for 50 years to full time occupational painting and photography.
My website www.jeanhemond.com

I now use a Canon 1DS mark2 with sigma 50-500 on a tripod with mirror lockup and remote cord for sharpness. I also work my photos extensively but sparingly with a legit Photoshop CS4.

For me coming from sculpture and painting, adequate composition for frame exploitation is an absolute must. Roam the net and painting museums to understand what works!
I suggest that painters have a look at my favourites they are to my eye well built compositions with interesting subjects.
That translate to emotional excitement .My aim!

As my health is getting better I still at times have a Lyme brain, teflon coated. Nothing sticks up-there those days unless there is overheat.

I forget so don't formalize if I do not reply or break some rules.
I apologizes and do my best.

My only secrets are to be there when it counts . Good light in the back, also with nice ( with clean or interesting background).
And trying again and again.

Clearskycharts.com helps a lot.

AIS signals, like Shipplotter on line, timely harbor and pilot info are also basics for this ship photo hunt.
I am lucky enough to live nearby an old cantilever bridge that doesn't vibrate a lot. And most of all this bridge has pedestrian access.
The bridge is overlooking the St-Lawrence busy seaway.

Ships aerial photos are rather scarce on the net, even more so those with ships proceeding ice . Companies that uses aircrafts or helicopters with costly cameras on gimbals charge, beforehand, thousands of dollars for unwarranted quality photos.

So It is clear that all my photos are copyright and are for sale as high resolution files.

It is known to all serious shipspotters that a trade of ships photos Cds is taking place. But the resale of any of my pictures is prohibited.

Users of stolen photos will be prosecuted and exposed on public and specialized forums.
