My name is Allison Trentelman. I own and operate a little art studio on a rocky mountaintop in Midcoast Maine called Rocky Top Studio. I've been photographing the Maine natural landscape for eight years now and continue to be inspired by this magical place. I love Maine! On the way into the state you pass a sign that says "Welcome to Maine, The Way Life Should Be" which is truly how I feel about it here. There is fresh air, beautiful landscape, and interesting, innovative, hardy people that give the state a distinct "feel" that I just love. The seasons are always dramatically changing, and this duality of the weather is also part of what draws me here. The winters are quiet, peaceful, and contemplative. The summers are bright, vibrant, busy, and full of life. It's like living two different lives and it keeps things interesting. I live on a rocky mountaintop covered in wild blueberry bushes and my partner and I are working to live a more self sufficient life here. We grow many of own food and herbs and try to live off the land as much as possible. Each year we get a little closer.
