I'm an engineer (conceptual designer) part of the time. The other part of the time I continuously go astray into the art and natural worlds. Are engineering and art compatible? Well, Leonardo Da Vinci was into both! Why can't I live in both worlds too !?!?.... Here I'm showcasing mostly photography which reflects my artistic and naturalist sides.
As a saying goes, I belong to NATURE; Nature does not belong to me. However, I do try to influence it locally in order to achieve my photographic fantasies.
I find relying on Nature's cooperation to photograph specific compositions to be exceptionally taxing on my patience. Most often I need endless re-trys before reaching satisfactory results.
All photographs presented here have been shot with the now old-fashion way ...a 35mm film camera.
In the order presented here, the different sets of photographs reflect some of my major life's endeavors:
(1) The {Beaver "sculpted"} set is a sampling of photos of sculptural compositions in which Canada's national symbol - the Beaver (castor canadensis) plays a major role in making this uniquely-Canadian artform possible. This artform is derived directly from NATURE. It has been showcased across Canada's national television network and published internationally alongside some well-known Renaissance art.
(2) The next set { Random, Nature-related photos} is a collection of photographs which also reflect NATURE in their own, individual way.
(3) The four sets under the general title "Christmas in NATURE" are essentially about the glorification of NATURE.
The individual subsets here are: (a) Christmas among the Mushrooms, (b) Christmas in an Elm Tree, (c) Christmas among the Birds and (d) Christmas among the Beavers.
(4) The set {Frost on Windows} was a short , fun project on extremely cold, early mornings over two winters in the 1990s.
(5) The set {Articles in Skillings Mining ...} summarizes some of my contributions to the Canadian mining and mineral processing industries where I was actvely involved mostly in the 1970s and 1980s.
(6) The final set {People} contains some personal photos.
