I do photography to please myself and as a creative outlet. While i don't think i will ever do it for money, the following quote from Philippe Halsman - the man who inspired so many famous people to "jump" to be photographed, rings true to me.

"I drifted into photography like one drifts into prostitution. First I did it to please myself, then I did it to please my friends, and eventually I did it for the money". - Philippe Halsman


Some other wise words about this art form which has so entranced me:
