In November 2008 the National Library joined The Commons on Flickr. The purpose of The Commons is to bring the treasures of the world's public photography collections to the attention of a wider audience, and to enrich those collections through the knowledge and enthusiasm of this audience.
All the photographs we add to The Commons are posted under a 'No known copyright restrictions' licence.
