I've been a photographer for over 10 years. I started shooting film during high school and all through college. I worked my way through a professional degree in Architecture by working as a Lab Tech in a full-fledged Digital and Film Studio and Darkroom. That's right- I'm a techie. I ran the lab, mixed chemicals, set up and photographed shoots for 4 years. I got to work with some amazing photographers and learned a ton by doing it all. That lead to doing some work as an assistant and eventually on my own. A film purist at heart, which has resulted as a strong advantage of having such a deeply ingrained knowledge of the physics, chemistry and light that I would never understand as well if I had just picked up a digital camera and was self-taught.

Then graduation came, my husband and I moved 1500 miles to Seattle and had a baby. And another baby. And another.

Now I am rarely without a camera in hand, constantly taking snapshots of my girls as they grow. I have learned the importance of having those fleeting moments captured and the joy it is to look back at all the memories of that little person embodied in those images. My heart is for Families and the precious time we have growing and changing together. Because of my girls I have fallen in love with Portraiture. Or maybe you could call it Lifestyle Photography. Or Creative Storytelling. No matter- the more important thing is creating that series of moments that combined illustrate a beautiful narrative of people in time and places.
