Hi, my name is naomi. I heart plants and my favorite hobby is taking plant photos. My favorite food is avacado; my favorite drink is water. I like sunny days and restful nights. In my spare time I enjoy climbing mountains and baking cookies. If I could, I would do them simultaneously. I am a field botanist, at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden where I am also a graduate student. I returned to graduate school after a two year long break. I previously studied the flora of a little place called Owens Peak in the southern Sierra. I now study a group of species in the genus Mimulus.

This is the species that made me fall in love with monkeyflowers. Mimulus shevockii (Kelso Creek monkeyflower)
