"Myositis is an incurable disease affecting the muscles in the body. There is no known cause and no cure at this time. We are hoping for more exposure and research on this. John Hopkins is getting very active with this to help us. If you have problems raising your arms, getting out of a chair, climbing stairs, fatigue, or a rash you may need to get some advise on this as all too often it is mis-diangnosed. We are here to help as we are all victims of this awfull disease.. I was diagnosed 12/22/06 and on 50 mg. Prednisone and 100 mg Imuran. Every one reacts differenly to the drugs so trial and error can be a factor till the right cocktail combination can be reached for the individual patient. A Rhuematologist is the best bet for finding a Dr. that has knowledge of this disease."
