I fit Nikon and Canon's typical demographic:
A father who bought a point-n-shoot to take pictures of his kids, and got hooked on photography.
I'm enjoying my Nikon D40, but I still love carrying around my Canon Powershot A720IS, because you can't take the shot if you don't have a camera with you.
I would never have gotten into photography if it wasn't for digital. The instant feedback speeds up the learning curve, and free exposures free you to experiment. Like anyone, I'm happy when people enjoy my pictures, but I get really excited when I find myself doing things I normally wouldn't, to get a shot. I love how photography changes you.
